Head of Innovation, Trade & Commodity Finance | ABN-AMRO
Rutger Kalkman is Head of Innovation of the Trade & Commodity Finance (TCF) division of ABN AMRO Bank. He is responsible for using new technologies such as DLT, AI and tokenisation towards use cases to deliver on new business models for TCF and the wider trade industry. Prior to his current role, he held various positions specializing in derivatives, corporate lending and restructuring within the commodity industry. In 2017 and 2018, Rutger worked with ING and Société Générale to create Komgo SA (Komgo) and bring in a total of 15 strategic investors together. Komgo is an open commodity trade finance blockchain platform which recently went live. He is also an alternate Board Member of Vakt Holdings Ltd (Vakt). Vakt is a DLT driven post trade management platform which is fully operational in the BFOE (the forward contract for light-sweet North Sea crude oil) market and will expand to the wider energy industry. Rutger holds an MSc in Economics from Erasmus University in Rotterdam.
